William Earl Lynd was the first inmate to die by injection since September, when the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to consider whether the three-drug combination represented cruel and unusual punishment.

No problem with death penalty but why must a neuromuscular blocking agent be used? If the condemned is in no pain, he won't move. Just give a huge bolus of morphine. That is quite the peaceful death given to dying cancer patients. And is "beyond a reasonable doubt" enough to kill someone? For the death penalty probably "beyond all doubt" seems more appropriate.
I believe an equipotent dose of pentobarbital and neuromuscular blocking agent would be as effective. However, I have only comment regarding the execution:
"Next."
